Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa expands digital student monitoring

The Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS) is expanding a digital attendance and micro-credentialing system to all of its high schools across the state. Developed by the institution's IT department, the system uses a mobile application to track student entry and exit from campuses.

According to Manuel Iván Tostado Ramírez, regional vice-rector for the southern zone, the application allows parents and tutors to receive real-time notifications regarding their children's movements. Beyond attendance, the platform enables parents to monitor academic progress, including partial grades and participation in academic or cultural activities.

The program began as a pilot in Mazatlán last semester, focusing solely on entry and exit monitoring. This current school cycle expands the service to include academic tracking and implements the system across all UAS high schools in the state, including the southern zone spanning from San Ignacio to Escuinapa.
