Nuevo Laredo advances water and educational infrastructure

The municipal government of Nuevo Laredo is implementing several infrastructure projects to improve public services. Under Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal, the city is advancing the construction of the Buenavista Tank, a 60-million-peso project through COMAPA designed to benefit over 103,000 users in the western sector. This new 5,000-cubic-meter tank will replace aging 1950s-era infrastructure to ensure more consistent water pressure and storage capacity.

Additionally, the city has operationalized a new hydraulic gate at the ISSSTE Tank to streamline water truck loading for families in the southeast. In the educational sector, the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is expanding its presence with the construction of the Nuevo Laredo University Center, including new faculties for Nursing and Commerce, as well as a new preparatory school in Tampico.

Other regional developments include the expansion of administrative offices in Soledad de Graciano Sánchez and various community improvements, such as a new multi-purpose hall in Parque Loma Dorada and a football pitch in Corregidora.
