Tamaulipas officials inaugurate new school and expand university programs
Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya and Nuevo Laredo Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal inaugurated the Beatriz Anaya de Villarreal Elementary School in the El Progreso neighborhood. The project, completed by the municipal government with an investment of approximately 36.8 million pesos, features 12 air-conditioned classrooms, new furniture, and sports facilities to serve 375 students.
In related educational developments, the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) is expanding its health sciences programs. Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado announced the expansion of nursing and medical offerings across the state, including a new nursing program in Reynosa-Aztlán, with plans to establish a Faculty of Medicine in the central region.
