Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas launches children's science camp

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) has launched the ‘Amor por la Ciencia 2026’ children's science camp at its Victoria Campus. Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado inaugurated the program, which aims to spark curiosity and interest in research among young participants.

More than 300 children are participating in the initiative, which features 80 specialized workshops designed to allow them to experiment and learn through discovery. The program involves the collaboration of 252 researchers and 139 student instructors. Support for the event includes contributions from the Tamaulipas Council of Science and Technology (COTACYT), which provided a mobile museum, and the Subsecretaría de Educación Básica, which integrated seven art workshops into the curriculum.
