Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas provides social services in Ciudad Madero

The Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) partnered with the Sistema DIF Tamaulipas to conduct the “Transformando Familias” social assistance brigade in Ciudad Madero. Held at the Francisco Villa softball field, the initiative aimed to support vulnerable populations in southern Tamaulipas.

Through the “Familia UAT” program, university faculty and students provided various services, including medical, dental, and nutritional consultations, as well as specialized academic and tax advisory. Additionally, the brigade distributed prescription glasses for vision correction and offered legal guidance and comprehensive support for women.

Participants included members from the Tampico faculties of Medicine, Law and Social Sciences, and Commerce and Administration, alongside the UAT Academic Secretariat. The collaboration sought to centralize essential services to prevent residents from having to travel to multiple institutions.
