Universidad Católica Boliviana receives national honor and hosts international scholar
The Universidad Católica Boliviana (UCB) San Pablo, La Paz campus, recently hosted Arvind Singhal, a prominent international theorist in the field of communication for social change. Singhal, a scholar recognized for his work in Entertainment Education and a successor to the academic legacy of Everett M. Rogers, visited the institution to share expertise in social mobilization strategies regarding health, human rights, and child protection.
In a separate recognition of its institutional history, the Bolivian Senate awarded the Universidad Católica Boliviana the ‘Símbolos Patrios’ decoration. The award, presented on September 8, 2026, honors the university’s 60 years of contribution to higher education in Bolivia. Senator Leonor Rosalva Romero Gutiérrez delivered the distinction, citing the institution’s commitment to human formation and the common good. National Rector P. José Fuentes Cano accepted the honor on behalf of the university community.
