Universidad Católica del Maule Choir celebrates 35th anniversary with free concerts

The Universidad Católica del Maule (UCM) Choir is hosting free concerts to celebrate the institution's 35th anniversary of autonomy. The concert series, titled “Inter Caelum et Terram” (Between Heaven and Earth), features a diverse repertoire of 13 musical pieces.

The program includes sacred works by composers such as Gabriel Fauré, Marco Frisina, Giulio Caccini, and John Rutter, alongside secular and popular music by Vicente Bianchi, Chico Buarque, and George Gershwin. Additionally, the choir will perform selections from Giuseppe Verdi’s operas, including “Nabucco” and “La Traviata”.

Performances are scheduled for Thursday, September 3, at the Iglesia Sagrada Familia in Talca, and Friday, September 4, at the UCM Extension Center in Curicó. Choir director María Isabel Fredes noted that the presentations aim to bring music and cultural heritage closer to the community.
