Universidad Católica del Norte advances ocean research roadmap

The Natural Ocean Laboratory Node Center-North (Nodo Océano), led by the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) and funded by the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID), is advancing its Science, Technology, and Innovation (CTCI) Roadmap.

During a recent meeting at the Guayacán campus, researchers, authorities, and students gathered to provide feedback on this strategic instrument. The initiative aims to foster coordination between various actors and produce knowledge that informs public policy and drives technological development tailored to the needs of north-central Chile.

Beatriz Parada Romero, Secretary of the UCN Coquimbo Campus, emphasized the university's social responsibility to generate knowledge that promotes productive development and community well-being. Niris Cortés Pizarro, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences at UCN Coquimbo, noted that defining this roadmap is essential for establishing clear lines of action to meet the Node's objectives.
