Universidad Católica del Norte launches Chile's first astrotourism diploma

The Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) has launched Chile’s first diploma program in astrotourism. The initiative aims to leverage the Antofagasta region’s status as a global hub for astronomy by integrating scientific knowledge with tourism development.

The program offers 30 vacancies, with applications open from August 11 to August 28, 2026. The curriculum includes general and observational astronomy, ethnography and cosmovision, communication skills, and business administration. The goal is to create a shared knowledge base that connects scientific research with regional economic opportunities.
