Universidad Continental receives first Sello SOFÍA accreditation in Peru

Universidad Continental has become the first university in Peru to receive the Sello SOFÍA International Accreditation. The distinction was awarded by the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d, a Spanish university quality assurance organization accredited by ENQA and registered with the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR).

The accreditation is valid for five years and evaluates the institution across several dimensions, including institutional governance, teaching, research, internationalization, and digital innovation. An international panel identified five key strengths during the evaluation: a mature internal quality assurance system, technological innovation and digital learning ecosystems, a research culture oriented toward social impact, strong strategic governance, and a focus on student experience and employability.

During the ceremony, Dr. Fernando Barrios Ipenza, president of Universidad Continental, stated that the recognition is a starting point rather than a final destination, emphasizing the need for a permanent culture of continuous improvement to contribute to the country's development.
