Universidad de Chile eyes new winger; Wanderers to play Copa Chile behind closed doors

Coach Fernando Gago said Universidad de Chile needs a versatile winger for the second half of the season, targeting a player who can operate on both flanks. Candidates mentioned include Daniel Castro of Deportes Limache and Lucas Janson of Boca Juniors, though financial demands and transfer negotiations have lowered their likelihood. Gago also noted potential squad changes such as the possible departure of Lucas Romero and the confirmed exit of Felipe Salomon, which could free a foreign‑player slot.

In the upcoming Copa Chile round, Santiago Wanderers will face Universidad de Chile on 21 June at Estadio Nacional, but the Wanderers' supporters have been barred from attending after a disciplinary sanction related to noise‑bomb incidents in a previous match. The club accepted the penalty, and the game will proceed without a Wanderers crowd.
