Universidad de Colima appoints Jesús López de la Cruz as Coquimatlán delegate

Christian Torres Ortiz, rector of the Universidad de Colima, has officially appointed Jesús López de la Cruz as the new delegate for the Coquimatlán campus. The appointment took place on Tuesday, August 25, at the Faculty of Architecture and Design auditorium.

López de la Cruz, an investigator and former director of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, succeeds Jesús Omar Brizuela Padilla, who recently passed away. Rector Torres Ortiz emphasized the importance of continuity, urging the new delegate to maintain the projects initiated by his predecessor and to serve the students and university staff with dedication.

In his acceptance remarks, López de la Cruz highlighted the academic strengths of the campus, noting that 20 members have joined the National System of Researchers and four academic programs have received recognition from the National Center for Higher Education Evaluation (Ceneval).
