Universidad de Guanajuato hosts cultural and research ethics events

The University of Guanajuato (UG) is hosting a series of academic and cultural events. The Agenda Cultura UG features a diverse program from August 17 to 26, 2026, including a Susan Sontag film retrospective, an Oscar cycle, and digital creation workshops. The schedule also includes employability talks, reading circles, and discussions on female leadership in STEM.

Additionally, the university held the 5th Meeting of Research and Ethics on August 13 and 14 at the Irapuato-Salamanca Campus. Organized by the Research Ethics Committee (CEPIUG) and the Internal Committee for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (CICUAL), the event gathered over 300 participants. During the inauguration, Rector Claudia Susana Gómez López emphasized the importance of ethics in research and decision-making, specifically highlighting the need to address ethical challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
