Universidad de Guanajuato launches new cultural season

The University of Guanajuato (UG) has launched a new cultural season running from August 10 to 16, featuring a diverse program of art, cinema, music, and cultural exchange activities.

Key highlights include the opening of registration for artistic workshops for the August-December 2026 semester and various film screenings. The Cine Club UG is offering the film "Vidas errantes," directed by Juan Antonio de la Riva, via an online platform. In San Miguel de Allende, the Casa El Nigromante is hosting acting workshops and a Spanish-English language exchange club.

Musical events include the start of the UG Symphony Orchestra's season at the Teatro Juárez on August 14. Directed by Juan Carlos Lomónaco and featuring soloist Ximo Vicedo, the concert will include works by Buxtehude, Nino Rota, and Prokofiev, including the local premiere of Rota's "Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra in C major."
