Universidad de Sotavento student reports harassment and lack of protection

A psychology student at the Universidad de Sotavento, Orizaba campus, has publicly denounced alleged harassment and psychological violence by a classmate. The student, identified as victim number 635, stated that the incidents began on May 21, 2025, involving derogatory comments regarding her physical appearance.

Despite having an active investigation and a judicial protection order in place through the Orizaba Prosecutor's Office, the student alleges that university authorities have failed to implement necessary safety measures. She reported that the campus director, Juan Carlos Bautista Palacios, refused to accommodate her request to avoid being placed in the same work groups as the accused, citing administrative reasons.

The student further claimed that faculty members have forced her to participate in academic activities alongside the individual in question. She also sought assistance from the university rectorate in Coatzacoalcos but reported receiving no resolution to the situation.
