Universidad de Valparaíso hosts AUGM International Human Rights Forum

The Universidad de Valparaíso has launched the Sixth Annual International Human Rights Forum of the Association of Montevideo Group Universities (AUGM). Held at the institution’s School of Law from October 27 to October 30, the forum is themed ‘Memory and Human Rights.’

The event brings together academic representatives, civil society organizations, and regional authorities to discuss historical memory, democracy, and human rights defense within Latin America. The inaugural ceremony included participation from Universidad de Valparaíso Rector Osvaldo Corrales, Universidad Nacional de Quilmes Rector María Alejandra Zinni, and AUGM Executive Secretary Fernando Sosa.

Accompanying the academic discussions are cultural and social activities, including exhibitions by groups such as Bordadoras por la Memoria Valparaíso and displays from various human rights organizations, including the Chilean Human Rights Commissions of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar.
