Universidad de Valparaíso wins first Interuniversity CPR Cup

The Universidad de Valparaíso won the inaugural Interuniversity Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Cup, a training and competition tournament for health science students. Organized by the firm Hospitalia, the event was held to commemorate International Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety Day.

Participating institutions included Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad de las Américas, and Universidad Viña del Mar. The competition took place simultaneously across various clinical simulation centers and was broadcast live on YouTube. Students performed chest compressions without ventilation on simulators equipped with objective feedback software. To earn points, participants had to achieve an effectiveness level of 99% or higher.

The winning team from the Universidad de Valparaíso's Reñaca campus consisted of 40 students from the Nursing, Kinesiology, and Medicine programs.
