Universidad del Chubut holds record‑setting XIII Graduation ceremony in Rawson

On 31 July, the Universidad del Chubut (UDC) opened its XIII Colación de Grados at the Centro Cultural José Hernández in Rawson. The inaugural ceremony awarded diplomas to 98 graduates from programmes such as Nursing, Therapeutic Accompaniment, Health Information Management, Software Development, Agribusiness Entrepreneurship, Paleontology and Telecommunications. The event was presided over by rector Marcela Freytes Frey, vice‑rector Fernando Menchi and other provincial officials.

The Rawson ceremony is the first of four scheduled across the province, with the total number of graduates reaching a historic 153 – the highest in the university’s history. Subsequent ceremonies will take place in Puerto Madryn, Sarmiento (the first ever ceremony in that town) and Esquel. The rector highlighted the role of public education in regional development and honoured several students with Diplomas of Honor.

The graduation series underscores the university’s expanding territorial presence and its collaboration with local municipalities, businesses and civil‑society organisations.
