Universidad La Salle Laguna student stabs classmate

A male student at Universidad La Salle Laguna stabbed a female classmate on Monday afternoon in Gómez Palacio, Durango. The incident occurred between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM near the campus exit as the morning school session concluded.

The victim, a 17-year-old resident of Torreón, Coahuila, sustained an approximately two-centimeter abdominal wound. University staff provided initial first aid before transporting her to a private hospital, where she is reported to be in stable condition.

University officials confirmed that both the attacker and the victim were new students who had known each other previously, possibly since middle school. Following the attack, the institution issued a definitive expulsion for the male student and has been reviewing campus surveillance footage to assist authorities. The university stated that the event does not represent a generalized threat to the community and that academic activities continue as scheduled.
