Universidad Miguel Hernández enters global top 300 for Public Health

Universidad Miguel Hernández (UMH) has achieved significant recognition in the 2026 Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects, placing within the top 300 globally for Public Health. The institution ranks in the 201-300 bracket, marking an improvement from previous years and becoming the sixth-highest ranked Spanish university in this discipline.

Additionally, UMH secured positions in the 301-400 global range for Agricultural Sciences and Food Science and Technology, ranking 15th and 18th in Spain, respectively. In Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the university placed in the 401-500 global bracket, holding the 13th position nationally.

Separately, during the official opening of the 2026/2027 academic year, UMH awarded an honorary doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) to astrophysicist Valentín Martínez Pillet, director of the Instituto Astrofísico de Canarias. The ceremony included various university rectors and regional officials.
