Universidad Nacional de Córdoba announces major academic reform

The Faculty of Communication Sciences at the National University of Córdoba (UNC) has announced its most significant academic reconfiguration in over three decades. The new curriculum design is set to take effect in the 2027 academic cycle.

Decan Gustavo Urenda stated that the reform responds to long-term analysis regarding digital cultures and evolving communication practices. The restructuring aims to address economic and professional demands by offering shorter, more specialized training paths that allow for quicker labor market insertion. The new academic offerings include technical degrees in Digital Communication, Communication in Public Relations and Protocol, and Communicational Research, alongside the existing programs in Sports Journalism and Tourism Communication Management.

A major component of the reform is the introduction of a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Multimedia Content. This replaces the previous structure, effectively separating institutional and research specializations into their own technical programs. Vice-decan Marta Pereyra noted that these changes will allow students to diversify their training and choose specialized paths based on their professional goals.
