Universidad Nacional de Córdoba provides aid to 29 CONICET researchers

The National University of Córdoba (UNC) has approved a direct economic assistance program for 29 postdoctoral fellows from CONICET who lost their funding. This measure follows the national government's decision to interrupt scholarship extensions on August 1, leaving highly qualified researchers in a state of professional uncertainty until they can be formally incorporated into the Scientific and Technological Researcher Career (CICyT) next year.

Coordinated by the UNC's Secretariat of Science and Technology (SeCyT), the emergency program provides a monthly stipend of approximately 1,200,000 pesos, equivalent to a university doctoral scholarship. The assistance will last until August 2027. Researchers without teaching positions will receive the full amount, while those with teaching roles will receive a supplement to reach that total. The initiative includes continued medical coverage through DASPU and requires an annual budget of approximately 324 million pesos.
