Universidad Nacional de Córdoba reelects rector Jhon Boretto for 2026‑2030 term

The Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) held its institutional elections on May 20‑21, 2024. The incumbent rector Jhon Boretto and vice‑rector Mariela Marchisio were re‑elected with 57.9% of the vote, defeating the opposition list “Vamos” that obtained 42%. Their mandate will run from 2026 to 2030.

The inauguration ceremony took place in the Sala de las Américas of the Pabellón Argentina on the university campus and was streamed live on UNC’s official YouTube channel. Boretto emphasized the need to maintain consensus within the university community and reiterated the demand for the full implementation of the University Financing Law. The election saw participation from nearly 90,000 university members, with a margin of about 5,000 votes between the two lists.
