Universidad Nacional de Música announces choral festival and incubation projects

The Universidad Nacional de Música (UNM) in Peru has announced the inaugural TAKI Choral Festival. The event will feature three nights of vocal music from October 27 to 29 at the Museo del Convento de San Francisco. Participating groups include various UNM choirs and several guest ensembles, such as the Claretiano College Children's Choir. The repertoire will span different musical eras and styles, featuring works by composers including Giuseppe Verdi, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Antonio Vivaldi.

Additionally, the UNM's Business Incubator Directorate (DIE) has selected ten projects for the first edition of its Specialized Incubation Program in Cultural and Creative Industries 2026. The program, which received 24 applications from students and alumni, aims to strengthen business models in areas such as musical education, digital tools, and festival management. Selected projects include initiatives like the TakiPro Suite and the Compás Sin Eje platform for contemporary Peruvian academic music.
