Universidad Nacional de Tucumán launches suicide prevention training

The National University of Tucumán (UNT), through its Faculty of Psychology, has launched a training and reflection initiative aimed at suicide prevention. The program brings together university authorities, provincial government representatives, and community actors to develop collective responses to this complex social issue.

Silvia López, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, emphasized the necessity of an interdisciplinary approach involving security forces, education, health, and community agents to recognize warning signs and intervene effectively. The training session included specialists Ernesto Páez and Martín Álvarez, who contributed expertise related to the development of the Suicide Prevention Law.
