Universidad Nacional Rosario Castellanos Extends Admission Deadline for Kanasín Campus
The Universidad Nacional Rosario Castellanos (UNRC) has extended the registration period for its new Kanasín campus in Yucatán until 31 August, allowing prospective students to apply online without an entrance exam. The campus, located in the Dzoyolá municipality, will offer nine bachelor’s programmes—including Data Science, ICT, Urban Environmental Sciences, Urbanism, Sustainable Development, Tourism, Philosophy and History, Community Development, and Control and Automation Engineering—through a hybrid model of three days of in‑person classes and two days of remote learning. Admissions are open to recent high‑school graduates and adults seeking to start or resume university studies. Results are slated for 1 September, with enrollment from 2–5 September and classes beginning on 7 September. The extension was announced by UNRC’s state academic unit head Diego Álvarez‑Icaza Vital and follows the campus inauguration by President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena, underscoring the institution’s commitment to broaden access to higher education in the region.
