Universidad Popular del Cesar students end strike

Students at the Universidad Popular del Cesar (UPC) Sabanas campus have ended a peaceful strike following a dialogue session with university leadership. The meeting included students, faculty, directors, and acting rector Ana Milena Maya.

The discussions focused on concerns regarding the Nursing program. The administration clarified that the recent tensions stemmed from a misunderstanding and stated there was no intention to disrupt the program's academic processes. As part of the resolution, Mariela Restrepo was introduced as the new director of the Nursing program.

The university committed to strengthening institutional communication channels and maintaining open spaces for dialogue to build trust. Additionally, the institution is preparing for an upcoming academic peer visit scheduled for August 21, which is critical for the Medicine program and the university's growth goals.
