Universidad San Sebastián launches adapted sports project in Puerto Montt

The Universidad San Sebastián, through its Occupational Therapy program in Puerto Montt, has launched the “Red de actividad física y deporte adaptado Puerto Montt” project. This collaborative initiative aims to strengthen inclusion and connect families with existing adapted sports opportunities for children and adolescents with reduced mobility.

Academic leader Mackarenna Mulchy noted that initial diagnoses revealed a fragmented offer of physical activities and contextual barriers within educational establishments. The project intends to identify these barriers, strengthen the competencies of physical education teachers and school integration professionals, and improve the coordination of available sports services.
