Universidad Tecnológica de Coahuila switches transport provider

The Universidad Tecnológica de Coahuila (UTC) has implemented a new transportation provider, DM Control, following service failures by the previous company. The disruption, which began on Tuesday, affected approximately 1,400 students and faculty members.

To mitigate the economic impact on students who would otherwise have had to pay for taxis, the university transitioned to virtual classes on Thursday. Rector Sergio Guadarrama Cortés stated that the decision to terminate the previous contract was made by mutual agreement after the company acknowledged internal issues.

DM Control began operating the main routes on Friday morning. While the rector noted that minor adjustments may occur as drivers familiarize themselves with the routes, he expects full service efficiency to be reached by Monday or Tuesday. The new agreement includes provisions for additional vehicles to handle mechanical failures or other contingencies.
