Universidad Tecnológica de Huejotzingo denies admission over harassment allegation

The Universidad Tecnológica de Huejotzingo (UTH) has denied entry to Jesús Cinto Bernal, an applicant for new admission, citing an ongoing criminal investigation regarding alleged cyber harassment. Cinto Bernal, the brother of former municipal president José Cinto Bernal, accused the university and its rector, Mirna Inés Toxqui Oliver, of institutional blocking. He noted that while a complaint exists, there has been no judicial resolution or restraining order issued against him.

In response to social media coverage of the incident, the UTH issued a statement asserting its responsibility to ensure a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff. The institution confirmed the existence of a criminal proceeding related to alleged harassment but declined to provide specific details regarding the investigation. The university maintained that it is authorized to take preventive measures to protect its community and urged the public to avoid relying on incomplete information from social media.
