Universidad Tecnológica del Perú hosts 8th Intellectual Property Moot Court
The Universidad Tecnológica del Perú (UTP) is hosting the eighth edition of its international Intellectual Property Moot Court. The academic competition is open to both Peruvian and foreign university students, with a $5,000 prize for the winning team.
This year’s competition focuses on the concept of ‘Trade Dress’ (Vestido Comercial). Participants will analyze a hypothetical case, develop legal strategies, and present oral arguments before a tribunal of international specialists. The event is designed to simulate real litigation, requiring students to represent both plaintiffs and defendants to strengthen their legal analysis and argumentation skills.
Luis Diez Canseco, dean of the UTP Faculty of Law and Human Sciences, stated that the competition allows students to test their knowledge and address contemporary legal challenges regarding intellectual property protection. Registration for the event is open until September 27.
