Universidade da Coruña approves 67 new teaching and research positions
The Governing Council of the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) has approved a call for 67 Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) positions. This initiative is part of the institution's 2026 Public Employment Offer and aims to strengthen the academic workforce, promote internal advancement, and stabilize research talent.
The approved positions include 17 university professor roles through internal promotion, 17 university lecturer positions, and 33 permanent labor staff roles. Additionally, five positions are reserved for doctoral researchers who have passed the I3 Program evaluation to bolster the university's scientific excellence.
During the session, the council also appointed Rafael Martín Acero as professor emeritus. Furthermore, Rector Ricardo Cao reported on the decentralization of Medicine, noting that new regulations for the establishment of Teaching Units at Chuac and Chuvi have entered into force.
