Universidade Paulista partners with Compliance Soluções for tax reform

Universidade Paulista (UNIP), one of Brazil’s largest private higher education institutions, has partnered with Compliance Soluções to manage its fiscal operations amidst the country’s tax reform.

With operations spanning 46 municipalities across states including São Paulo, Goiás, Amazonas, and the Distrito Federal, UNIP faced significant complexity due to the diverse municipal legislations regarding service taxation. To ensure continuity and regulatory compliance, the university implemented the Compliance Soluções platform, which is integrated with the TOTVS Protheus ERP system. This integration manages the issuance of Electronic Service Invoices (NFS-e) and fiscal messaging with local governments.

Sidnei José Caldeira da Silva, UNIP’s billing manager, noted that the transition period involved frequent regulatory changes and municipal system updates, requiring rapid adaptation to maintain internal processes.
