Università degli Studi Mediterranea expands student psychological support

The Università degli Studi Mediterranea is expanding its support for student wellbeing and quality of life. During a scientific forum focused on psychosocial and evolutionary perspectives, university officials discussed risk behaviors and protective factors affecting students.

Professor Giuseppe Zimbalatti, Rector of the university, announced that new structures are being developed to provide further support to students. Giovanni Cuda, Rector of the University of Catanzaro and delegate for psychological counseling, noted a significant increase in requests for help and listening services, a trend likely exacerbated by the pandemic. He observed that while the high demand for counseling indicates existing psychological challenges, it also reflects an increased sensitivity and more effective institutional responses compared to the past.
