Università Iuav di Venezia celebrates centenary with exhibitions and lectures

Università Iuav di Venezia is hosting a series of events to mark its centenary. As part of the celebrations, the university will present “Guido Guidi. Iuav 101 fotografie,” an exhibition running from October 15 to December 18, 2026, at Magazzino 6 in Venice. The exhibition honors photographer Guido Guidi, who has a long-standing relationship with the institution as a former student, laboratory technician, and professor. The collection is organized into four thematic sections: In Veneto, Ina-Casa, I Maestri, and I Magazzini.

Additionally, the university is continuing its “10 x 100 – Le conferenze Iuav del Centenario” lecture series. A scheduled session on October 19 will feature economist and politician Fabrizio Barca, who will deliver a lecture titled “Democracy and complexity: for policies sensitive to people in places.” The discussion will explore how place-based policy approaches can address social fragmentation and strengthen democratic ties between local knowledge and global perspectives.
