Universitario de Deportes and Unión Tarija secure victories in Peru and Bolivia

Unión Tarija defeated Nacional Senac 1–0 in a tightly contested match in Tarija, Bolivia. The game saw several expulsions: Unión Tarija played with nine men after Janer Alfonzo Sanjuan Gómez was sent off, while Senac also lost Gustavo Jesús Farfán Velásquez. The lone goal came in the 24th minute when midfielder Juan Diego Lobo Padilla received a loose ball, evaded the defender and scored past goalkeeper Víctor Iturricha.

In Peru, Universitario de Deportes won 2–1 against ADT Tarma in the opening round of the Torneo Clausura. Coach Héctor Cúper praised the debut of Italian‑Peruvian striker Gianluca Lapadula, who entered in the 82nd minute.
