Universitario de Deportes faces title doubts after heavy loss

Universitario de Deportes faces scrutiny following a heavy 4-0 defeat against Deportivo Garcilaso, casting doubt on their prospects in the Torneo Clausura. While the club continues to support manager Héctor Cúper, the recent loss has weakened their position in the championship race.

Former player Aldo Olcese described the performance as a “disaster,” noting that while the team remains in second place, they no longer appear as strong contenders for the title. Olcese suggested that the rapid succession of goals disrupted the team's composure, making them appear vulnerable compared to previous seasons.
