Universitario defender Matías Di Benedetto credits tactical shift for team resurgence

Universitario de Deportes defender Matías Di Benedetto has attributed the team's recent resurgence in the Torneo Clausura to a tactical shift back to a three-man defensive line. The Argentine defender stated that the team has found a better version of itself and feels more comfortable due to the extensive work put into this specific formation.

Following a difficult match against Cienciano, coach Héctor Cúper implemented the change, which has resulted in increased solidity and confidence. Di Benedetto noted that the team's improved performance has revitalized the atmosphere at the Estadio Monumental, with fans showing renewed optimism as the club competes for the championship.

In addition to defensive improvements, Di Benedetto praised the offensive contributions of players such as Valera and Lapadula, noting that their goal-scoring ability provides the squad with greater peace of mind. Universitario currently shares the top of the table with Deportivo Garcilaso.
