Universitas Airlangga appoints US neurosurgery expert as adjunct professor

The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Airlangga (FK Unair) has officially appointed Professor Kevin K. W. Wang, Ph.D., as an adjunct professor of neurosurgery. Professor Wang joins from the Center for Neurotrauma Multiomics and Biomarkers (CNMB) at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

The collaboration aims to strengthen international research and education in neurosurgery and neurotrauma. Professor Wang’s expertise focuses on developing biomarkers to assist in the management of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).

FK Unair Dean, Professor Eighty Mardiyan Kurniawati, stated that this partnership is intended to expand the academic community's insights into clinical skills, research, and community development at an international level. The collaboration is particularly relevant given the rapid technological and scientific advancements in neurosurgery and the high prevalence of neurotrauma cases, such as traffic accidents and sports injuries, in Indonesia.
