Universitas Gunadarma launches first university in IKN

Universitas Gunadarma has officially commenced academic activities in Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), marking the establishment of the first university in the new capital. The inaugural cohort consists of 48 students enrolled in eight study programs: Civil Engineering, Information Systems, Management, Accounting, Psychology, Architecture, Communication Science, and Informatics.

Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the IKN Authority, welcomed the students during a public lecture at the N1 Building. He noted that the university's presence is intended to complete the educational ecosystem in Nusantara, which spans from early childhood education to higher education.

The initiative involves a collaboration between Universitas Gunadarma, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Indonesia (FKUI), and the IKN Authority. This partnership aims to develop a medical study program in IKN with guidance from FKUI, utilizing the new capital as a ‘living laboratory’ for research, health, and technology innovation.
