Universitas Indonesia enters top 700 in THE World University Rankings 2027

Universitas Indonesia (UI) has achieved a significant milestone by entering the top 700 globally in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) 2027. Ranking in the 651–700 bracket, UI has climbed over 100 positions compared to its 801–1000 ranking in 2026, making it the highest-ranked university in Indonesia.

The university’s advancement is attributed to improvements in International Outlook, Industry, and Teaching. These metrics reflect UI’s efforts to expand global academic collaborations, strengthen ties with the industrial sector for research and innovation, and maintain high-quality educational standards.

In the same rankings, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) was recognized as one of Indonesia’s top five private universities, placing in the 1,801–2,000 global range. UPH reported high scores in Research Quality, which contributed to its standing among the 2,297 institutions evaluated worldwide.
