Universitas Islam Indonesia wins Campus League Badminton Semarang

The inaugural Campus League Badminton Regional Semarang concluded at the Polytron Stadium, Universitas Diponegoro. The tournament featured 149 student-athletes from 17 universities across various regions, including Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar.

Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) secured the mixed team championship title after defeating Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) in the final match. UII won both sets with identical scores of 55-35, 55-35. Notable performances included Alfira Deanika in the women's singles and the men's doubles pair of Mochammad Billawal A J and Muhammad D M Ferary, who secured the final points.

Campus League CEO Ryan Gozali stated the event aims to preserve Indonesia's badminton tradition by providing a competitive platform for student-athletes, ensuring they do not have to choose between sports and education. The tournament also implemented the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) scoring system to help players adapt to new regulations.
