Universitas Jember hosts 18th National Student Arts Week

The 18th National Student Arts Week (PEKSIMINAS XVIII) officially opened at the University of Jember (UNEJ) on September 8, 2026. The biennial event, organized by the Indonesian Student Arts Development Agency (BPSMI) of East Java, features 15 different art categories and brings together selected student talents from various provinces across Indonesia.

Committee Chairman Fendi Setyawan emphasized the importance of young artists in the digital age, stating that while technology can mimic many things, it cannot replicate the soul of an artist. Winners in the competition will receive trophies, certificates, and development funds.

Representing the Aceh province, students from Samudra University (Unsam) are among the participants. The Unsam delegation includes M. Themas Micho in Poster Design, Renanda Putri in Female Poetry Writing, and Ulul Al Zikri in Male Solo Pop Singing, all of whom advanced to the national level after winning their respective regional competitions.
