Universitas Negeri Padang develops Smart Campus system
Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) is developing a Smart Campus system that integrates asset management with spatial information technology. The system aims to map campus assets and allow the public to explore the university environment virtually.
The project involves multiple teams within UNP, including the Smart Campus Community Service Team, the Directorate of Information Technology, the UI Green Matrix Team, and the Directorate of General Finance and Assets. The development process includes using aerial photography to map assets across 10 campuses, covering both outdoor areas and specific indoor spaces such as the Rectorate Building, the Integrated Laboratory, and the Central Library.
This spatial data is being compiled into a Geographic Information System (GIS) database, which will be accessible through the Smart Campus Geoportal. The platform is designed to manage and present UNP asset information digitally and is intended for integration with the university's official website.
