Universitas Terbuka appoints six new professors as step toward world‑class university status

Universitas Terbuka (UT) held a ceremony in Tangerang Selatan to inaugurate six new professors, raising the total number of full professors to 45 after a second ceremony the following day. Rector Prof. Ali Muktiyanto said the appointments strengthen UT’s push to join the world‑class university rankings and outlined a goal of producing at least 450 internationally‑cited research articles. He added, "Ini menjadi peneguhan dan pembuktian bahwa UT memang siap untuk melesat menuju pentas dunia."

Senate Chair Prof. Chanif Nurcholis emphasized that the professor title represents a trust from the government and the nation, urging new professors to uphold high academic ethics and to disseminate their research through journals, books, monographs, and patents before applying it to society.
