Universitas Yarsi launches literacy and hoax prevention programs

Universitas Yarsi has launched several community initiatives aimed at improving literacy and information management in Indonesia. In Bantarsari Village, Bogor, the university’s Library and Information Science program conducted an information literacy program to combat hoaxes. Featuring experts from Mafindo, the program taught residents how to verify source credibility, read news thoroughly, and compare information with trusted sources to prevent the spread of misinformation.

In Jakarta, Universitas Yarsi partnered with Read Aloud Jakarta to host a “Mahir Membaca Nyaring” (Proficient Read Aloud) workshop. The session, held at the Cempaka Putih campus, was designed for students and the general public to learn vocal techniques, intonation, and expression to foster a reading culture in children. The workshop emphasized that reading aloud helps enrich vocabulary and strengthens the bond between children and educators or parents.
