Universitat de les Illes Balears and Fundació Registral launch new law chair

The Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and the Fundació Registral have signed an agreement to establish the UIB-Fundació Registral Registral Law Chair. The initiative aims to foster research and knowledge generation in areas related to social and economic realities, specifically focusing on housing, urban planning, and the legal framework of real estate property.

Directed by Aina Salom, the chair intends to bring together academics, judges, notaries, registrars, and lawyers to create more robust legal reform proposals and diagnoses. The program also seeks to provide training and professional recognition for law students while bridging the gap between academia and legal professionals. Jesús Sieira, dean of the Registradores de Propiedad y Mercantiles of the Balearic Islands, noted that the chair serves as a space for debate and the exchange of experiences to find practical solutions to existing legal problems.
