Universitat de Lleida starts new academic year for extension classrooms

The Universitat de Lleida (UdL) has launched the 2026-2027 academic year for its Aula d’Extensió Universitària de Lleida, with 1,784 participants enrolled in activities running through May.

The inaugural event featured a change in leadership, with Montserrat Gené taking over as president from Paco Rué, who led the organization for thirteen years. New initiatives for this term include mechanisms to measure participant satisfaction, the creation of an honorary member status for individuals over 90 years old, and the implementation of draws for new member admissions.

The ceremony included musical performances by the Anxovetes Havaneres group and the Aula's own choir. The University of Lleida currently oversees a total of 36 university extension classrooms, including a recent addition in the Barcelona region.
