Universitat Rovira Virgili launches 2026-2027 senior extension courses

The Universitat Rovira Virgili (URV) has launched the 2026-2027 academic year for its University Extension Classrooms aimed at seniors. These programs are designed to promote lifelong learning, social interaction, and active participation for citizens over the age of 55.

In Cambrils, the inaugural session featured a talk by IT consultant Joan Ball-llosera Castillo. The program, supported by the Cambrils City Council, serves as a social hub for the community. Officials noted that the initiative is growing, with expectations to reach 2,000 students this year.

In Constantí, the course commenced at the Municipal Library with a lecture by Álvaro Arasa regarding the history and future of the oil industry in Catalonia. The Constantí program includes a special segment in November dedicated to showcasing local talent and professional expertise from within the municipality.
