Universitatea Cluj and Poli Timișoara sign youth development partnership

Universitatea Cluj and Politehnica Timișoara have signed a sporting partnership agreement for the 2026-2027 season to facilitate youth player development. The agreement follows new regulations introduced by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) regarding U21 players, allowing eligible youngsters to compete in both the Superliga and Liga 2 within the same season.

Under the terms of the cooperation, Politehnica Timișoara can utilize a maximum of five players from Universitatea Cluj. These players will remain under contract with Universitatea Cluj while playing exclusively for the partner club's first team. To maintain eligibility for play-offs or play-outs, players must meet a minimum requirement of playing at least 15 minutes in at least five regular season matches.
